A SECOND LIFE FOR THE « MAISON DU PEUPLE » OF CLICHY !
On the occasion of Simi, Apsys and the Ducasse Group unveil their project to renovate the Maison du Peuple in Clichy.
A masterpiece of modernist architecture classified as a historical monument, the Maison du Peuple – designed by architects Marcel Lods and Eugène Beaudouin, engineer Vladimir Bodiansky and contractor Jean Prouvé – stands out for its avant-garde features: removable floors, sliding partitions, movable roof.
Historically, the Maison du Peuple has also had a vocation as a place for living and sharing.
It is to this exceptional heritage that the rehabilitation project led by the architects Perrot & Richard and the designers of the Jouin Manku agency, supported by the Ministry of Culture, aims to give new life.
Resolutely open to its neighborhood, in the heart of the city of Clichy and a showcase for the creativity of the Hauts-de-Seine, the Maison du Peuple will house the Manufactures of chocolate, de ice cream and cookie Alain Ducasse on 4,200 m², a « refectory » open to the public, a cooking residence, an international laboratory for traditional and future culinary practices, as well as the Ducasse group headquarters.
The project is scheduled for delivery in the second half of 2023.
« After the redevelopment of the Dix Solférino, we are very pleased to restore another heritage gem to its full glory: the Maison du Peuple in Clichy. We are also very pleased to be working on this emblematic project with the magnificent Alain Ducasse Group, another national gem ! » said Maurice Bansay, Chairman and Founder of Apsys.
