METZ: THE BIRTH OF A NEW NEIGHBOURHOOD
The Muse project rises within the Amphithéâtre Zone of Urban Development which will combine a residential component, a retail component and cultural spaces… This major public facility will have an even greater reach thanks to the TGV (high-speed train) that has been covering the East of France since June 2007.
THE TGV (HIGH-SPEED TRAIN), THE CENTRE POMPIDOU MUSEUM… AND MUSE!
In order to help along the birth of the new neighbourhood around the the TGV train station and the Centre Pompidou Metz (the decentralized branch of the world-famous Centre Pompidou Museum in Paris), Apsys, together with ING, is building a leisure and shopping space that will make this new cultural destination even more attractive.

The architect
The Jean-Paul Viguier & Associés agency was chosen by the City of Metz and the group of developers to design and build a major part of this new neighborhood.
Facing the Centre Pompidou-Metz museum, the Muse project’s architecture based on themed buldings will provide a new entrance into the city, and stand for a new approach to urban development, a new way of thinking and creating the city.
GUIDING PRINCIPLES: DIVERSITY AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOMENT
This is no less than the project of building a whole new 32 acre « piece of the city » from scratch: what is at stake for the B3-C3 island is to rise up to the challenge of mixed-use, density and architectural creativity by combining residential, office and retailing spaces. The partners and contracting owners are joining forces to realize a structuring, complementary offer which not only creates new spaces but also new places for living that will mirror the times and be resolutely modern, which will enhance a new type of urban experience and urban belonging. www.viguier.com
